Faith-Based Economics
Taking
courage from the spirit of Herbert Hoover, our faith in
Capitalism will not be shaken by a little instability in
the financial markets. Capitalism is not just an economic
system, it's a religion! Only by surrendering ourselves
completely to God's Invisible Hand in the marketplace can
we be truly saved.
Any
attempt at economic planning is tantamount to prideful
atheism, and will be punished as such by the Almighty!
If it's God's will that markets crash, then praised be
the crash.
Immediately
before the great stock market crash of 1929, Herbert Hoover,
a Republican, was elected president. He shared my blind
and righteous faith in the free market. As America slid
into depression, he stood by and did nothing--just as I
will do nothing. Some sinners (mostly Democrats and Communists)
protested. Many followed them, and thus came the New Deal:
a Godless, prideful, Earthly pursuit akin to the Tower of
Babel.
